blessed....?

I love the summer, especially July. It's time where I get to see my family the most. It's also the time where we reflect on how blessed we are to live in an amazing country and state.
I feel very blessed to have an amazing family, friends and husband. I am truly grateful for all the love they give me.
We have been blessed with so many things..... One of the things is this little bugger.

We got really lucky to have a smart puppy. He is so fun to play with and keeps the hubby occupied. When he's sleepy he loves to cuddle, which I love.
But with blessings, always comes challenges, right???
Dexter has been sick for a little bit. We thought he was getting better, but this last week he's been sick again. This includes me getting up in the middle of the night every 2 hours to take him outside... If you know me, you know that I covet my sleep. So this isn't fun. Lately we haven't been closing his kennel because he's big enough to stay asleep. BUT the last week he gets out of his kennel, goes into the living room and rings his bell to go outside, he does not wait for me to get up and to take him outside. Instead he rings the bell and takes a crap right by the door.... and it's not just normal dog poo, if you get my drift. This has happened 4 times in the last 3 days. Dexter tends to eat everything on the ground. This includes rocks, paper, pine cones, grass, feathers, spiders ect. In return he gets a tummy ache, which leads to him needing to go potty every couple hours.
Needless to say..... when I first got this puppy I thought it would be challenging at times and fun other times. He's great.... but we have some news PUPPY FOR SALE!! ha just kidding. What I'm getting at is, If this is anything, remotely close to having a child.... I will not be bearing any children in the future.
So in a round about way, this is a great blessing to have a puppy. It prepares me to know if I can handle children. We will just leave it at that. :)
Hope everyone had a great July!!! And got more sleep than me. ;)

  1. HAHA I don't know what to say... ;) I have heard puppies are worse than children. Babies can wear diapers. However with a baby, you do get up a few times in the night and lose some sleep. That is why I trained my baby like a little puppy so that he started sleeping 9 hours at 8 weeks. :D HAHAH Anyway, you make me laugh. He's a cutie, hope he gets feeling better for everyone's sakes!
